 1.0 Installation
===============================================================================

 Refer to the appropriate section in the Autostart program (run HTMLVIEW.EXE from
 CD and browse to the Installation chapter) for detailed information.

 For installation of EMC32 run the setup.exe program and select the EMC32
 product which you have purchased.

 - EMC32-A+
 - EMC32-E+
 - EMC32-C
 - EMC32-S
 - EMC32-E

 2.0 Update
===============================================================================

 Refer to the appropriate section in the Autostart program (run HTMLVIEW.EXE from
 CD and browse to the Update chapter) for detailed information.

 Note:
 Do a backup of your EMC32 files (..\Execute\Configuration, ..\System and ..\Tests 
 folder) before you start the update.

 The update of EMC32 can be done by running the normal setup.exe. The setup
 will detect your old installation automatically and will will uninstall it
 before the new version is installed.
 Be sure to use the same installation folder to keep your existing data and 
 configuration files.

 For this purpose a new Backup function has been implemented in EMC32 V4.1.

 EMC32-A customers can install EMC32-A+.

 In EMC32 V4.1 the configuration files for the generic device drivers have been
 sorted into subfolders. After the update you must move your own configuration
 files into the appropriate folder before you start EMC32 V4.1 for the first time.

 3.0 Installation Problems
===============================================================================

 Problem:
    Windows 2000
    Error 1931: The Windows Installer could not update the file ..\scrrun.dll. 
 Solution:
    This problem occurs if the Internet Explorer 5.5 is not installed on your 
    computer. Click the OK button in the Windows Installer message and proceed 
    with the installation.
    The EMC32 is not influenced by this problem. At least version 5.01 of the 
    Windows Internet Explorer must be installed.

 4.0 Minimum Firmware Versions of controlled Instruments

 Refer to the appropriate table in the Autostart program (HTMLVIEW.EXE ->
 Device Support) for detailed information.

 5.0 Integration of older EMI Receivers
===============================================================================

 The configuration wizard does not support the older EMI reeceiver models from 
 R&S, i.e., there aren't any predefined scan or sweep templates available for 
 those receivers.
 To avoid creating those templates from scratch, a similar EMI receiver can be 
 selected with the configuration wizard. Once this has been done, the device 
 list has to be adapted: The "similar" EMI receiver has to be replaced by the 
 actual one. The device name has to be set again to "Receiver"!
 Now each scan and sweep template installed by the configuration wizard has to 
 be opened, adapted to the receiver's properties and saved. Of course any 
 templates that are not of interest can be deleted.
 For the selection of the "similar" EMI receiver the following assignments 
 should be used:
        ESS:                ESCS 30
        ESPC:               ESCS 30
        ESHS:               ESCS 30
        ESVS:               ESCS 30
        ESAI:               ESIB 7
        ESBI:               ESIB 7
        ESMI:               ESIB 26
