A power meter is a piece of equipment that is used during EMC measurements. It's primary purpose is to measure the power of a RF signal. Power meters are often limited to measure signals below +10/+20 dBm. If higher RF signals need to be measured an Attenuator or a Coupler needs to be used to have an indication of the real higher power RF signal.
Power meters are only used during Immunity tests.
All the device drivers for power meters maintain the following information:
- Allowed frequency range
- Instructions how to:
- zero the powermeter
- perform a power measurement
A complete list of all supported power meters by RadiMation is available on this RadiWiki site.
