How can I overlap two graphs in multi band?
To overlap two graphs, open both the test results. In one of the two test results press the graphs button. you will see that the other test is available for selection. You can add any line from the other test result into the current graph.

How can I reset the administrator password in RadiMation®?
The password of the administrator cannot be cleared, it is however possible to remove the administrator account. If RadiMation® is started without an Administrator account, RadiMation® will automatically create a new Administrator account with the default RadiMation® password.
Use the following steps to remove the Administrator account:
- Close RadiMation® before continuing.
- In the RadiMation® CONFDVDR folder (most often: C:\Program Files\DARE Development\RadiMation\CONFDVDR\) the file SETTINGS.INI is present. Open this file, and search for the keyword [Engineers]. After this line, search for the engineer that is named Administrator. (for example: Engineer1=Administrator).
- Remove all the lines that start with: Engineer<NR>, where the <NR> is the same number (in the example: 1) as the number of the engineer that was named Administrator.
- Save the file and start RadiMation®.
What is the default RadiMation® password for the Administrator?
The default password for the administrator is: Radimation
How can I turn off the login window?
To turn off the log in window of RadiMation, select an engineer that has no password selected.
Log in as Administrator:
- Go to Configuration --> Engineer
- Select Administrator
- press Edit, a new window will appear.
- Press Change Password.
- Fill in the old password (default: Radimation)
- Do not fill in password and retype password.
- Close all windows with Ok.
- Select File --> Change Engineer
- Select Administrator
- Check automatically login with this engineer.
- Press Ok.
- restart RadiMation®
Log in as other user:
The same sequence as the Administrator applies to the engineer. Make sure when you create a new engineer that the permissions are set correctly.
What are the minimum PC requirements?
Is Microsoft Windows XP supported?
Nowadays, Microsoft Windows 7 is the minimum requirement for RadiMation®. Due to the fact that Microsoft Windows XP is not supported anymore by Microsoft, we also cannot provide any support for Microsoft windows XP anymore. We have not verified/tested the RadiMation 2013.x versions and higher on Microsoft Windows XP, and we will not support this. RadiMation® is working correctly and supported on Windows 7 (32-bits and 64-bits) and Windows 8.1 (32-bits and 64-bits).
Is Microsoft Windows 7 (64 bit) supported?
RadiMation® is supported on Windows 7. RadiMation® is working correctly on the 32-bit and on 64-bit version of Windows 7. Also on Windows 8.1 (32-bits and 64-bits) RadiMation® is fully working and supported. In order to run RadiMation it is absolutely required that the used operating system is up to date. It can cost severe delays during an installation in case Windows Updates are not completely updated and installed. For more detailed information see the Hardware and software requirements.
Is Microsoft Windows 10 supported?
RadiMation® is tested and supported on Windows 10. In order to run RadiMation it is absolutely required that the used operating system is up to date. How can I see which pages have been changed recently?
This RadiWiki site is using the MediaWiki software that is also used by Wikipedia. Most of the features that are present on Wikipedia, are thus also present on this RadiWiki site. Some possibilities to monitor recent changes are:

How can I determine the attenuation of a cable with RadiMation®
RadiMation® has attenuation measurement build in. It consist of 2 phases, the system calibration and the eut calibration. The system the measurements are part of a calibration so the EUT window must be closed before you can access the feature. You can reach the system calibration by:

How can I add drivers of uncontrolled hardware like LISN's?
RadiMation® uses drivers for all devices used during an EMC measurement, even passive components. With passive components this may seem an overkill, as nothing is being changed/controlled with the device. Frequency limitation is the main reason, if RadiMation® does not know the frequency range, it can not warn you that you are making possible mistake. To add a passive component yourself, you go to the device group in the configuration window.
For example, a LISN.
- Select "Configurable LISN" and press the New button.
- Name device correctly, and press Ok.
- Select the device in the configuration window, and press Edit.
- In the device configuration window press the Advanced button.
- Change the frequency settings to match the specification of the device, and press Ok.
How can I capture RS-232 communication?
Capturing RS-232 communication is very complicated on a 64-bit Windows operating system. That is one of the reasons that we integrated the RadiLog tool in RadiMation. We strongly suggest to use RadiLog to capture any communication between RadiMation and measurement devices.
RadiMation® is slow when I turn on an amplifier
When RadiMation is slow when a certain amplifier is turned check the follow thing(s).
- Is the amplifier in remote mode?
Some amplifiers, in local mode, have the unwanted behaviour of being detectable on the GPIB bus, but not responding to any commands send to the device. This can cause a delay because the first part of the GPIB protocol, in other words the detection or low level handshaking, is working correctly. The second part of the communication is not working because the machine is not responding causing time out delays. These delays can introduce slow behaviour of RadiMation®. The easiest solution is to put the amplifier in remote mode. Another solution is to not include the amplifier in the amplifier control window.
RadiMation® is slow when starting, the PC is not connected to the internet
In the 'Control Panel', there is an item to configure the 'Internet Options'. On the 'Advanced' tab, there is an option under 'Security', 'Check for publisher's certificate revocation'. Uncheck this option and RadiMation® will start faster again.

RadiMation® Windows is crashing when I un-dock my laptop from my docking station
This problem has been reported by one of our customers, Windows was generating blue screens when he un-docked the laptop. It turned out to be the parallel port(lpt), after disabling it on the device configuration the problem was solved.

Which files do I need to copy to transfer RadiMation® from one pc to the other?
The following folders need to be copied to transfer RadiMation® from one pc to the other.
Do not copy the RadiMation® version folder because this needs to be installed with the installer. Then there is no doubt that all the correct files have been copied, and the files are registered correctly.

Does the excel exporter work for the multiband tests?
The excel exportor does not work for the multiband test because it is impossible to produce a correct table for the information from all the information that is available in a multiband test. A simple dump of data will too complex to extract the information from, we suggest that you use the report generator in combination with the excel report generator editor, to retrieve the specific information that is required.
The password of the advanced options menu is not publicly distributed. The advanced options can have a very strong influence on the behavior of the software. Changing these settings should only be applied to less then 1% of the total RadiMation® users.
Why is the menu added when I can not access it?
The advanced options menu is added to created the posibility to change the behavior of RadiMation® without having to make an special version of RadiMation®. This ensures that quality of RadiMation® can be maintained in the best way possible.
We support the software that is still actively supported by the 3rd party. Software or firmware that is not supported anymore by the 3rd party, will also not be supported by us, as part of the RadiMation® service contract. Already existing functionality regarding unsupported software will still be provided 'as is', and probably will be working, but no additional fixes or improvements will be implemented for unsupported systems. In specific cases we are able to still provide support, but the costs for that support will be charged in addition to the support contract.
For example the Microsoft Windows XP operating system, is not supported by Microsoft anymore and therefore will also not be supported by RadiMation either.
Another example is the Hewlett Packard 8566B analyser. The HP 8566 is not supported anymore by HP. The RadiMation device driver to control the HP 8566B is still provided 'as is' in the DRIVERS.EXE page, and we know that it is working correctly. However any problems that are found in this device driver will not be fixed anymore under the standard RadiMation support contract.

Why is the graph in a printout during the test different from pressing print on the eut window?
Press the print button during the test, will result in a printout with the graphs displayed at that time.
When printing on the EUT window the printout will process the printout template. Default this template will show the lines that are displayed when opening the test result file as well as the complete frequency range.
I want to report a problem but the problem is gone after I start the NI spy program for creating a log file
NI Spy introduces a small delay in the communication that can some times be enough for the controlled device to behave normally. This delay can be introduced in the RadiMation driver. In the GPIB configuration window there is a option to include a GPIB delay. Set this delay to 7000uS (7 mS). This is the amount of delay caused by the NI-Spy.
I have found a problem. What should I do?
If you have found a problem in the RadiMation® software, it is best to report it to us (for example through this online form). We will categorize the reported issue, register it in our defect database, and investigate the problem. When a workaround or solution is available, we will report this back to you.
