GPIB system driver error (EDVR): Ethernet link broken

A RadiMation device driver is trying to control a GPIB device through a GPIB board. However an error is raised by the GPIB system driver that controls that GPIB board. The driver has detected that the communication link that was present with the GPIB Ethernet device is suddenly broken.

This error corresponds to the National Instruments NI-488.2 error 0xE1060078.

This error occurs if you are using a GPIB Ethernet interface and the network link is broken between the host and the GPIB Ethernet interface. This error can be returned for one of the following reasons:

• The cables are broken or removed.
• The GPIB Ethernet interface is switched off during communication.
• The virtual connection between your host computer and the GPIB Ethernet interface has encountered unrecoverable errors.

Solution

When a National Instruments GPIB board is used, the configuration of the GPIB board can be checked and changed in the NI-MAX software.

• Check if the GPIB Ethernet device is still present and available in the NI-MAX software.
