The EN/IEC 60601-1-2 standard describes how EMC tests are performed on medical electrical equipment
The exact title of this standard is: "IEC 60601-1-2: Medical electrical equipment - Part 1-2: General requirements for basic safety and essential performance - Collateral standard: Electromagnetic disturbances - Requirements and tests"
This review is based on the IEC 60601-1-2:2014/A1:2020 version.
For a lot of the requirements, this standard is referring to other IEC standards. Some of these referenced standards are:
- IEC 61000-3-2
- IEC 61000-3-3
- IEC 61000-4-2
- IEC 61000-4-3
- IEC 61000-4-4
- IEC 61000-4-5
- IEC 61000-4-6
- IEC 61000-4-8
- IEC 61000-4-11
- IEC 61000-4-39
In section 8.11, it is described that the magnetic field close proximity test as described in IEC 61000-4-39 only needs to be performed on 3 frequencies (30 kHz, 134.2 kHz and 13.56 MHz)
