The TSF Directory is a file-system directory where TSF's are stored on the PC's harddisk. This directory is created during the installation of RadiMation. The exact location of the directory is also determined during the installation and it is depending on several factors of the PC itself. The actual location of the TSF Directory is shown on the Directories tab in the Configuration window.
When the internal structure of the TSF Directory was designed, the 8.3 filename system limitations was still in effect.
As end-users wanted to use more then 8 characters to define the TSF files names, RadiMation® has create a tree-like structure to overcome this problem. That is why the filenames in the TSF directory can have a different name then the end-user has initially specified as the name of the TSF itself. The advantage of this solution is that the name of the TSF is not limited to the limitations of the file system. It allows to use more than 8 characters and also allows to use the characters: ':', ';', '*', '\', etc.., which are still not allowed on modern file systems. The correct full name of the TSF-file is stored inside the TSF-file itself. Be aware that this doesn't allow to change the name of the TSF file on the harddisk, in order to change the name of the TSF. You should rename the name of a TSF inside RadiMation®.
It is best to assume that the TSF file directory structure is a closed database. We do not support that a single filename in the TSF directory is changed, and the correct working of the software is no longer guaranteed.
