The ISO 11451-3 is a standard that describes how EMC measurements are performed on road vehicles to determine any influence caused by on-board transmitters.

The title of this standard is: "Road vehicles — Vehicle test methods for electrical disturbances from narrowband radiated electromagnetic energy. Part 3: On-board transmitter simulation."

The last known edition is the third edition released on 2015-06.

This standard describes that the vehicle cannot be influenced by on-board transmitters (which can be integrated transmitters, or mobile transmitters (like mobile phones)). This can be tested by using the original mounted antennas on the device, or a simulated transmitting antenna. The test signal is then applied from the transmitter itself, or by using a signal generator and (broadband) amplifier that are placed outside the vehicle, but connected by a coaxial cable to the transmitting antenna in/on the vehicle. In most of the cases the forward or net power should be regulated.
