The requested carrier level is higher than the maximum (<max> dBm). Limited the set carrier level to <max> dBm.[edit]
During the control of the RadiGen signal generator a carrier level is requested that is higher than the powerlevel that can be provided by the RadiGen signal generator.
The maximum achievable carrier level for the actual combination of settings is shown in the error message. As the requested powerlevel cannot be achieved this is an error.
It is possible to configure a maximum amplifier input level in RadiMation® that contains a value that is lower than the maximum powerlevel that can be generated by the RadiGen. However, if the actual physical cable (and eventually relays) between the RadiGen and the amplifier do have some loss, it is still possible that the RadiGen carrier level is going above the maximum powerlevel, before the amplifier input limitation is reached.
Solution[edit]
Reduce the requested powerlevel of the test, for example by using
- a more powerful amplifier
- a cable between the signal geneator and the amplifier with a lower loss
- a shorter cable between the signal generator and the amplifier
- a pre-amplifier between the signal generator and the amplifier
