* You start 2 RadiMation instances, and after closing the first one the second one is not getting the control over the GPIB board. This is correct functionality, during the start up there is a check to see if the board is available. If the answer is no this is remembered during the whole session.

Device Driver System is already used by another application.[edit]

It is possible to run 2 or more instances of the RadiMation software, however only one instance of RadiMation can have control over the GPIB bus. This is due to the fact that the GPIB bus itself is not designed to be used by 2 different applications at the same time. Like for example Ethernet or USB. The first instance will take over the control of the GPIB card, the second instance will be in a view only mode. You are able to perform report generation if you have the rights, or change TSF settings. this is not recommended because it may influence the measurement time in a negative way.

Solution[edit]

  • Only start one RadiMation program at the same time. If this error message is still shown if only one RadiMation program is running, please check with the task manager if there are 2 'RADIMAT-MAIN.EXE' programs running. If two 'RADIMAT-MAIN.EXE' programs are running, please terminate them both and restart RadiMation.
  • If 2 RadiMation instances are started, closing the first one does not give the second instance control over the GPIB board. This is correct functionality. During the start up of RadiMation there is a check to see if the board is available. If this check is unsuccessful, it will be remembered as long as RadiMation is running. Restart RadiMation to make the device driver system usable again.
