RadiMation Application Note 168
EUT Attachments in RadiMation[edit]
| Note: | These features are available starting from RadiMation 2025.2.1 |
Overview and Use Cases of EUT Attachments[edit]
The EUT Attachments feature allows to store additional files inside the .EUT file. This makes the EUT fully self-contained, portable and independent from the PC file structure. When a .EUT file is moved to another workstation, all embedded attachments are included.
Attachments are useful for storing:
- photos of the test setup
- Microsoft Word documents
- correction files (.COR, .LLF)
- measurement notes
- screenshots, diagrams, or reference material
- any additional documentation relevant to the EUT
Adding and Managing Attachments[edit]
Attachments can be added in two ways:
- by clicking the Add button
- by dragging and dropping files directly into the Attachments window
Each attachment can be Edited, Deleted or Renamed.
Multiple attachments with identical names are allowed.
Each attachment is uniquely identified by its internal order number (Nr).
Whenever an attachment is added, edited, renamed, or removed, the EUT must be saved afterwards.
Using EUT Attachments in the Report Generator[edit]
The Report Generator supports extracting attachment information or content via the following keyword:
||EUT|ATTACHMENT <FILENAME> <Nr> <SUB-CODE>||
At least one of the arguments FILENAME or Nr must be provided. If both are omitted, the keyword is invalid and will not be replaced.
Filename is case insensitive and thus PHOTO.JPG and photo.jpg will match the same attachments.
Selecting Attachments by Filename and Nr[edit]
RadiMation considers both the filename and the ordinal number when choosing an attachment.
Examples:
||EUT|ATTACHMENT PHOTO.JPG CONTENTS||
Selects the first attachment named PHOTO.JPG.
||EUT|ATTACHMENT PHOTO.JPG 2 CONTENTS||
Selects the second attachment with that name.
||EUT|ATTACHMENT 1 FILE NAME||
Selects the attachment by position only.
Using Wildcards (* and ?)[edit]
Wildcards allow flexible selection of attachments:
* matches zero or more characters
? matches exactly one character
Examples:
||EUT|ATTACHMENT *.PNG CONTENTS||
Selects the first PNG file.
||EUT|ATTACHMENT PHOTO_??.PNG 3 CONTENTS||
Selects the third PNG file matching the pattern (e.g., PHOTO_01.PNG, PHOTO_AB.PNG).
Supported sub-codes[edit]
FILE NAME – inserts the attachment name
FILE DATE-TIME – inserts the last modification time
FILE SIZE – inserts the file size in bytes
CONTENTS – inserts the file content
Special Support for COR and LLF Files[edit]
For .COR and .LLF attachments, the following additional output formats are available:
GRAPH – inserts a graph of the file
TABLE or CONTENTS – inserts a formatted table
Conclusion[edit]
EUT Attachments provide a powerful way to keep all relevant documentation, correction files, and supporting materials embedded inside an .EUT file. This improves portability, and enables automatic integration of attachment data into RadiMation reports.
